*Please have students print and complete work, OR if you do not have a printer or want to give your printer a break, copy the title of assignment and answers on a scrap piece of paper *
Assignments will be collected 2 weeks after the date we return to school.
Day 1:
Reading Lesson: This lesson is on Central Message. Remember, The Central Message is the moral or lesson learning in a story! Here you will find a Power point and Answer sheet to practice this skill. Please have students complete and save work to be submitted upon return.
Math Lesson: using place value to add within 1,000.
- First, complete the IReady Math lesson (Use Place Value to Add within 1,000).
- Enjoy the Place Value Game.
Day 2
Reading Lesson : Compete the Spiral Review to practice what you know about Fables. When you are finished, log into classlink, then onto MyOn and select a fable of your choice to read and enjoy! We have also added a Fable Below that you can watch. Be sure to be thinking about the Central Message/Moral/ Lesson while you read and listen! (Your child knows their passsword and username for classlink)
Math Lesson : perimeter & area, and measuring length & then plotting the data on a line plot.
1.) First complete the 2 lessons in IReady Math. (Measure Length and Plot Data on Line Plots & Connect Area and Perimeter)
2.) Explore some of the Perimeter and Area Games Below
Day 3
Grammar/Reading Skills Lesson : This lesson is on Context Clues. After you watch the videos, choose 3 or more pages from the Context Clues Packet to complete. Please have students complete and save work to be submitted upon return.
Math Lesson: whole-number quotients of whole numbers.
- First , complete the lesson in IReady Math (Division Part1)
- Enjoy the Division Fun Activity.
Day 4
Reading Lesson : This Lesson is on Recounting Stories. Today you will get to choose how you want to complete today's lesson. There are two options that you can choose to complete for the graded assignment. Choice A) You can complete this lesson on iReady that we assigned for you. Or you can choose, Choice B) You may complete the Recounting Stories Lesson in the iReady book pages that you will find below. This assignment will be a Reading grade upon return. Please make sure that you take your time when completing this assignment and you email us asking any questions that you may have. If you do not have a printer to print the IReady book page below, complete on a piece of paper.
Math Lesson: number patterns, variables and patterns in the addition/multiplication table.
1. First, complete the IReady Lesson on Understand Patterns.
2. Have some fun playing some of the games on ABCya. I have linked ABCya to the number patterns button below. You will search for the 3rd grade standard of 3.OAD.9. There are a few fun games for you to play.
Day 5
Writing Lesson: In this lesson you will watch a video on how to retell a story. Remember summarizing and retelling are the same thing! :)
1. First watch the video that teaches you how to retell a story. (I also added the summarizing video for those of you that love it!)
2. Pick a fable/ fairytale from MyOn or from your bookshelf and read it.
3. Use the 5 finger strategy to retell the story. Write down your retell on a piece of paper and make sure to write the Title and Author of the book you are retelling.
4. For those that love to go Above and Beyond! Record yourself Retelling the story you selected and email your Reading Teacher a video of you retelling your story!

1. First, complete the IReady Math Lesson Solve Two-Step Word Problems Using the Four Operations.
2. Have some fun while practicing word problems. I have linked Math Playground to the word problems button below.
3. The final assignment for this lesson is a quiz that will count towards a grade in math. Clink the Quiz button below, print out the quiz, complete it, and keep it until we return to school. It will be graded! (If you can not print, complete the quiz on a piece of paper.
